- Bill Honig, President and former California State Superintendent of Public Instruction, founded CORE in 1995. Linda Diamond, Chief Executive Officer, is known nationally for her work on standard setting and assessment.
- To date CORE has trained teachers in over 1,000 schools and 70 school districts.
- Our fully implemented model spans two to three years or more to help our clients build their own capacity to sustain strong achievement in reading.
- This model has proven extremely successful thanks to its key integrated components: improved teaching practices, systemic capacity development, and effective assessment tools and instructional materials tied to scientifically based evidence.
- Full-model projects have a strong track record of substantially improved achievement results.
- CORE meets requirements for federal programs such as CSR and Reading First.
- Our services include coach and administrator institutes, teacher academies, school site implementation support, district implementation technical assistance, consultation on the selection of research-based materials and assessments, and off-site institutes such as the company's annual Leadership Summit, which updates CORE clients on current research and practices in reading.
